About CSV.ink
CSV.ink is a free set of online tools for working with CSV and other table files. You can view and edit CSV files and convert them to and from Excel, JSON, XML, TSV, SQL, HTML, Markdown, PDF and vCard, directly in your browser.
Why we built CSV.ink
CSV is everywhere: banks, shops, CRMs and analytics tools all export it. Yet opening one is often frustrating. Columns end up merged, special characters turn into gibberish, and ZIP codes lose their leading zeros. Most online converters also require you to upload files that may contain personal or business data.
We wanted tools that are fast, correct and private by design, and that anyone can use without installing software or creating an account.
How the tools work
Every conversion runs in your browser using JavaScript. When you open a file, it is read from your device into the page's memory, converted there, and offered to you as a download. The file content is never sent to our servers or stored by us.
We follow the CSV standard (RFC 4180) for quoted values and line breaks, read and write UTF-8, and test each converter with real-world files, including semicolon-separated exports, non-Latin text and large datasets.
Who we are
CSV.ink is an independent project built and maintained by a small team of developers who work with data every day. We are not affiliated with Microsoft, Google or any other software vendor mentioned on this site.
The site is free to use. To cover hosting and development costs, it may show advertising. Ads never have access to the files you process.
