Tips for extracting HTML tables

Getting the HTML

In the browser, right-click the table and choose Inspect, then right-click the <table> element and copy its outer HTML. Or save the page with Ctrl+S.

Merged cells

Cells with rowspan or colspan are repeated into every row and column they cover, so the CSV stays rectangular.

Only text is kept

Links, images and formatting are removed. Line breaks inside a cell are kept.

Safe to paste

The HTML is only parsed, never run. Scripts in the pasted code do not execute.
