Tips for merging CSV files

Columns are matched by name

Columns with the same header end up in the same column, even if the files list them in a different order.

Extra columns are kept

A column that exists in only some files is added to the result and left empty for rows from the other files.

Track the source

Turn on the source file column to see where each row came from, for example when combining monthly exports.

Remove duplicates afterwards

If the files overlap, open the merged file in the CSV.ink editor and use "Remove duplicate rows".

Merge CSV FAQ

Is merging CSV files free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on the number of files.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The files are merged in your browser, so your data stays private.

What if the headers are different?

The result contains every column from every file. Rows simply leave the columns empty that their file did not have.

Can I merge files with different delimiters?

Yes. Each file's delimiter is detected on its own, and the result is a standard comma-separated CSV.

Is the header repeated in the middle?

No. The merged file has one header row at the top.
